Mr. Prasann Kumar is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, doing his research work on heavy metals toxicity. He has completed International Agricultural Rural Development Programe from Cornell University, USA. Mr. Kumar is the recipient of TWAS-BIOVISION.NXT.FELLOW 2014 (FRANCE), TWAS-BIBLIOTHECA ALEXANDRIA (EGYPT, 2014), YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD 2014 (BIOVED RESEARCH SOCIETY, ALLAHABAD) and SAMMAN PATRA, IMS,BHU. He has qualified GATE, ICAR-NET, ICAR-SRF, UGC-JRF-RGNFD, UGC-SRF-RGNFD,INSA Fellowship (New Delhi) and NTS (MSJE, New Delhi) besides being a UGC-Research Fellowship of BHU.
He already has more than hundred publications including research paper, review articles, book chapters, popular articles, abstracts and books of International and National Repute. Mr.Kumar has published 10 books of National and International repute on the aspect of heavy metal stress and others. Mr. Kumar has visited the foreign country France. He acts as a Potential Reviewer in Elsevier Editorial System for the Journal Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety(Impact factor 2.69), Medicinal Plant-International Journal of Phytomedicines and Related Industries[NAAS Rating:4.25], Journal of Crop Research, Journal of Dynamics in Agricultural Research, SKY journal of soil science and environment, Lournal of Agriculture Science, G-Journal of Environmental Sciences and Technology(GLEST)[Published by Grace and Peace Welfare Society], and acting as the Managing Editor in the Journal of the Kalash Sciences (International Journal)(The Official Publication of the Kalash Research and Welfare Society) (ISSN 2321-7634). Mr. Kumar is the Life member/Annual member of several scientific societies like Indian Society for Plant Physiology (Life member), Indian Society of Cell Biology (Life member), Kalash Welfare Society (Life member), Indian BotanicalSociety (Annual member), Indian Science Congress Association (Annual member), Hind Agri-Horticultural Society (Annual member) and Member of Times Higher Education World University Ranking selected by Elsevier, England, 2015-16.
He has completed six projects/training programes of two to four months duration that were funded by INSA, IAS, NASI, ILRI, BHU and Fruit and Vegetable Preservation and Processing at BHU. He has completed successfully Edusat based Distance Learning Programe organized by IIRS, Dehradun and ISRO, Ahmadabad. Next to his course credit load, he has also completed level II Diploma in English and Yoga form BHU. Mr. Kumar has been awarded 24th and 25th Youth Fest National Award by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.He has attended and presented his research papers more than twenty one in onference/seminar/symposium at National and International repute. Mr. Kumar has been awarded up to twenty six prizes for standing first at National level, University level and Institute level in extracurriculum activities.
