Kwamina E. Banson is a Research Fellow in Systems Design and Complexity Management (SDCM) at the Business School of university of Adelaide, Australia. He has been working as a research scientist and as a manager of the Technology Transfer Centre of the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission for over eight years. Mr. Banson also served as a lecturer at the Graduate School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences of University of Ghana in “Agricultural marketing” and “Micro enterprise development and management”. In 2008, he served as the vice president of the Ghanaian-German Alumni Network. He was the socio-economic director of the Ghana Environmental Watch & Advocacy; a Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated to making a viable contribution to solving environmental problems and defending environmental human rights in Ghana. He is one of the successful candidates selected for the Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellows Program award in 2009. He has also been trained in Organics Certification and awarded certificate from the international organic inspectors association (IOIA) through Washington State University (WSU). As the founder of the Ghana Atomic Energy Farmers Association (GAFA), besides regular training and extension services to these farmers, he established quarterly meetings with farmers to deliberate on issues affecting productivity that researchers need to address. Mr. Banson has received numerous awards which include the AnatolRapoportAward, Australia Award Scholarship, award from the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA), Award from international Atomic Energy Agency, from Washington State University, from Ghana Standard Board and from his former high school as an outstanding leader. Mr Banson is highly motivated, self-driven, hardworking and with good analytical, technical and organizational skills. He has strong interests in research and policy analysis issues focusing on areas crucial to sustainable rural development.
