In my current position as Professor and Head of dept. Of Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics , at College of Dental Science and Research Centre, Ahmedabad (Gujarat) which is a post graduate teaching program institute , I have the privilege of guiding and training the post graduates registered under me both clinically and academically. This gives me the drive and experience to work towards a larger role of research , aimed at the development of the speciality. Qualifications : Bachelor of dental science (B.D.S) in 1995 from Govt. Dental College and Hospital, Ahmedabad, affiliated to Gujarat University. Masters of dental surgery (M.D.S) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in 1999, from Govt. Dental College and Hospital , Ahmedabad , affiliated to Gujarat University. Professional Experience : Academic experience I am presently heading the Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics dept at College of Dental Science and Research Centre, Ahmedabad, which is affiliated to Gujarat University. I have 6 post graduate students registered under me. I have been attached to this institute since 01/01/2010 as Professor and head of the department. I have a total of 15 years of teaching experience in the speciality of Orthodontics and dentofacial Orthopedics. I am a P.G guide since June 2012 and have completed thesis work for the Post graduate students and am involved in the research work of other students. Clinical experience : I am into private practice, limited to Orthodontics since 1999. This includes the most contemporary Orthodontic mechanics including Self ligation systems, fixed functional correctors, lingual Orthodontics and clear aligner therapy. Membership Life Member of Indian Orthodontic Society. Life Member of Indian dental Association. Professional achievements : Appointed as referee by APOS Trends in Orthodontics Appointed as inspector by Dental council of India Appointed as University examiner across India.
