Loredana Cerroni has obtained a degree in Biological Science in 1986 and has achieved the title of Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1992 both from University of Rome Tor Vergata. Since 1996 is permanent researcher at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. In 1998 was qualified expert in the sector (instruments and dental materials) (EAC N° 17.38) from DNV (Det Norske Veritas) in the CE marking Medical devices. has taken an expert in a contract concluded between DNV and University of Rome "Tor Vergata". Has obtained a degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthesis in 2000 from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and a Master in “Periodontal Disease ”, from the University of Rome "Sapienza". From January 2001 is structured at the University Hospital Policlinico Tor Vergata.
Scientific activity is addressed primarily to the following lines of research: Dental Materials-Periodontology: *Interactions that establish between different dental materials dental and salivary proteins; *Biocompatibility of materials used in Dentistry and Orthopedy, *Interactions between implant materials and cell cultures (fibroblasts, osteoblasts), *Anti-bacterial activity of active ingredients of dental interest; *Bacterial adhesion to materials used in implantology and dental prosthesis: *Dental Hygiene Products; *Materials for Restorative Dentistry, *Microscopic appraisal of extracted teeth treated with various endodontic irrigants. The scientific activity of L. Cerroni is witnessed by more than 50 publications in refereed international journals and national journals, as well as about 60 presentations at the Congress.
She is co-author of 5 books.
