I am presently working as Professor & Head, Paediatric Orthopaedic Unit, Department of Orthopaedics, King George's Medical University (KGMU, formerly KGMC), Lucknow. I have 20 years of research and teaching experience with over 138 publications, including 05 books, several chapters and guided several MS/PhD/MD students.
My area of research includes ‘PaediatricOrthopaedics’, ‘Clinical & Translation Research’ (the ‘translational researches’ involve inter-departmental and intra-institutional collaborations), ‘Trauma management’ (innovation of fracture management especially emergency management of paediatric population in emergency room), ‘Injury Science’ (such factors affecting bone healing including genetic predisposition, biomarkers for early detection of nonunion, evaluation of PRP in osteoporotic fractures), ‘Regenerative Orthopaedics’ (stem cells for spinal injury and avascular necrosis of head of femur, Perthes’ Disease),‘Preventive Orthopaedics’ (such as evaluation of risk factors for overuse injuries, evaluation of risk factors for missed injuries). A simple, indigenous surgical technique was innovated to managed complex calcaneal (heel) fractures. Two more areas are very close to heart: one ‘to work on inter person relationship’ to stimulate a comprehensive team approach and second ‘Innovations in Medical Education’, on which I am working and evolving.
I have delivered numerous invited talks at International/National scientific institutions/conferences. I am member of Editorial Board of several international journals and reviewer of more than two dozen national and international journals of repute. I successfully organized many national and international conferences and has been President of Indian Society of Paediatric Traumatology (ISPT) and as well President of National Orthobiologics Association of India (NOBA).
Presently i am member of 14 professional bodies and 04 Expert Groups. I recieved various national and international Awards, Honors, Titles and Medals including VigyanRatan Award by Government of Uttar Pradesh, Best Biomedical Scientist ICMR, and best Innovator of the Year Hongkong etc. I rendered Community Services through print and visual media to create awareness in general public on prevention and management of various common orthopaedic conditions.
